Pumpkin seeds contain all nine essential amino acids to be a complete protein. It is high L-Tryptophan, which the body converts into Serotonin, Melatonin (the sleep hormone and is a potent anti-oxidant) and Niacin (Vitamin B3). It is also high in Glutamine which occurs in the highest concentrations in the brain compared with any other amino acid. It’s the primary excitatory neurotransmitter that is also converted into GABA (the primary inhibitory or anti-stress neurotransmitter). Glutamine/glutamate is vital to proper brain function. 

Pumpkin seeds are high in fiber, healthy fats, key minerals (Manganese, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, Iron, Potassium & Selenium) and numerous vitamins including: B Vitamins: B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), Vitamin E: (in multiple forms), Vitamin K (vital for healthy blood clotting). 

Documented health benefits of pumpkin seeds include: antioxidant support from multiple nutrients, improved insulin response, antimicrobial properties, associated with decreased cancer risk and possible benefits in BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia) and in helping to prevent hair loss and regrow thinning hair.
